French-style Chicken Liver Pate⁣

This pate is so silky-smooth and incredibly delicious, it’s hard to believe how easy it is to make. ⁣

The liver flavor is very mild, so this is a great recipe for anyone struggling to add liver to their diet. The combination of liver and butter (preferably grass-fed!) makes this a highly concentrated source of nutrition.⁣

1 lb chicken livers, rinsed⁣

1/2 tsp salt⁣

1 cup water⁣

1 bay leaf⁣

2 garlic cloves + 1 shallot OR 4 garlic cloves, sliced ⁣

Pinch of nutmeg⁣

6 tbsp butter⁣

Combine liver, salt, water, bay leaf, garlic, and shallot in a small saucepan. Bring to a boil, then turn down heat and simmer uncovered for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.⁣

Drain and remove bay leaf. Add to food processor along with nutmeg. Turn on food processor. With food processor running, add butter gradually. Continue processing until mixture is silky-smooth.⁣

Transfer to a container and chill in refrigerator.⁣

Serve cold with bread, crackers, veggies, or just on a spoon. Enjoy!⁣
